Hello,
As a first post in my blog, I would like to show you my first decoupage creations.
This is a transparent glass plate, which has been decorated with reverse decoupage technique. Also there are other techniques involved, such as, gilding and 2 step Crackle.
First I have cleaned my plate with clear alcohol. Then I placed with a synthetic brush a coat of step 1 crackle varnish base. I let it dry for 3-4 hours (it depends on the weather, if it is winter or there is humidity it will take more time to dry).

Once it is has dried, I have applied crackle varnish step 2. After that, I have placed some patina in dark brown (gold in the plate depicting the bird) in order to highlight the crackles. Then I have placed mixion glue (for guilding) once it has become transparent I have glued my gold foil.

After that, I glued my rice paper and colored it with a light color such as white or beige and applied 5-6 hands of solvent varnish. Do not forget to clean your brushes after each stage and especially, the brush that you will use for the solvent varnish should be cleaned with white spirit or trepetine based solution.
I hope you like them :-)
